The problem
Conservation exchanges were being run the way most of them still are — an opportunity posted somewhere, a flurry of email, a spreadsheet, and personal information from applicants scattered across inboxes. It works until it grows, and then it does not work at all.
The idea
Treat the whole thing as one system rather than a website with an email address on it. If an opportunity, an application, a conversation and a decision all live in the same place, nobody has to reconcile four versions of the truth, and applicants stop wondering whether they were forgotten.
What we built
A public-facing site, an exchange board, an application system and an administration backend — designed together and built as a single platform. Each part assumes the others exist, which is what makes the whole thing feel like one product rather than a website with tools bolted onto it.
How it works
An organisation posts an opportunity to the exchange board. Applicants browse, apply and are kept informed as their application moves, with messaging attached to the application rather than living in an inbox. The KEEP team works from an administration area built for the way the process actually runs, and personal information stays inside the platform throughout.
